Hands-On Experience for Worship Leaders
We limit the number of students for one reason: so you get the hands-on experience you deserve.
DavidU students will get 40 hours of training in our summer internship and it’s not just theory, it’s practical! There are 3 Classes behind a sound board learning while you use the board in front of you. In addition, there will be opportunities to apply your mixing techniques to the worship band practice(s) at Rock of Grace campuses, giving you a unique hands-on experience.
You’ll also have a chance to mix during live Worship Experiences this year so you’ll get priceless experience and feedback. We believe the best way to learn is to do. Many people go to Bible College to be a worship leader and never learn to run sound. How can they train sound techs on something they haven’t learned? We aim to solve that!
You’ll learn music theory with a piano sitting right in front of you! You’ll get 8 classes dedicated to music theory and piano basics with free downloads to extended classes you can take at home - videos can be viewed on iPhone, iPad, Mac or Windows devices.
Many worship leaders have a desire to write original music. You’ll also learn about songwriting for worship from Pastor Jordan, whose songs are song in churches across the US. Your peers will help evaluate your song giving constructive criticism based on the criteria we’re learning in a healthy, encouraging environment.
What about getting my hands dirty in actual ministry planning? We will give you the opportunity to …
Attend some staff meetings & Executive Pastor/Director meetings
Observe a Pastor in Funeral Preparation & Perform a Funeral
Observe a Pastor in Wedding Preparation & Performing it.
Take part in Water-Baptism
Take part in Prayer Ministry in Worship Services
Assist in Planning a Worship Service after being mentored
Assist in Organizing a Leadership Development Meeting
Observe how we strategize our ministries and calendar for the year based on what the Lord is speaking to us in prayer
Learn how we actually administer Compassion and Missions dollars; protocols, the Biblical imperative, etc.
If you’re taking OSOM or SEU there is a required internship for you to graduate; Rock of Grace is providing that for approved applicants to DavidU.
& much more.
